Our mission is to give a hand UP to those in need. We accomplish this by providing clothing, toiletries, food, and more at no cost to those financially in need. We respond to basic human needs, promote dignity and hope. Our goal is also to provide social activities and holiday events to Families in need, children, and the elderly.
Our goal is to also spread kindness. Sometimes it is not always about the necessities, it is taking the time to listen to someone or to do something for them to make them feel special.
Sometimes, something as simple as a new outfit can put a smile on one's face and make them feel beautiful.
We currently accept donations in the form of:
·New/Used Clothing, Shoes. All sizes/gender
·Nonperishable Food
·Pet Food/Supplies
·Baby Diapers/Formula
• Toiletries
·Household items
·New or Gently Used Novels/ School Textbooks/ Back to School Supplies
·Toys for birthdays/Christmas
With the way the economy is today, Greater Purpose SVG wants to relieve financial stress from families by providing necessities. We strive to provide quite a few charity services to families that are in need
such as:
Clothing Giveaway Shopping Sprees- where disadvantaged families can visit our location specified and "shop" for clothing that is given to them for free."
Holiday Parties for Kids in Need- One of our missions at Greater Purpose SVG is to create memories for children in need. Each year we hold either an Easter/Christmas Party where we will invite children from less fortunate families to come and enjoy a fun filled day together. We know this is not a necessity, but we think it is a wonderful memory for a child in need. For some children, this was their first time ever going to a party.
Back to School Project- Greater Purpose SVG holds its annual Back to School Event each year for families in need. What makes our Back-to-School Event special is that the children get to come to our event, meet and greet with other kids, and receive a back to-school backpack filled with basic school
supplies. Seeing the smiles on their faces are
priceless memories.
Christmas Toy Drive- Many children and families are in need of little extra help during the holiday season. Making ends meet day-to-day is a struggle, leaving very few resources for gifts under the tree. In this time of great need, we look to our donors to help us fill these gaps. Where Toys, new/Used are usually donated and gifted to our wonderful, appreciative kids. Every child deserves a MAGICAL Christmas!
Funding Projects- When Greater Purpose SVG has extra funding, we try and help those in need. Here are some of the things we have helped with beds, school feeding program fees, birthday cakes, refrigerators, school uniforms, shoes, etc.
Feed the Elderly Project- We try to provide meal support to homebound elderly people who are confined to bed, lack transportation, and or are too frail to cook for themselves.
